G is for Goliath Beetle, Small Tote Bag or Candy Bag
This tote bag is a great size and good for throwing loose stuff in a bag and heading out the door without getting too careful about packing up. It's thin and super light weight and good for trips to the garden, the library, or stuff around the house. It's good for quick grocery trips if you're not getting too much stuff. If you are getting about a week's worth of groceries I recommend my Weekender Totes which are bigger and perfect for loading up easily and transporting aroun

Jumping Spider Puzzle! Gift this to someone you don't like very much...
Wow. I thought it would be a good idea to put all of my animals and insects on solid white or black backgrounds for challenging puzzles. I bought one, laid it out, and ended up hurting my own feelings. I recommend it highly as a gift for someone you don't like very much. It will hurt their feelings too. All kidding aside, the print is nice a clear on this, I just have less patience than I recall having worked on puzzles before. It sat on the table and mocked me for weeks. It

Ostrich Crushed Velvet Blanket Champagne and Black Contrast - I Love this!
I ordered this crushed velvet champagne blanket to see how it feels in person, and it's definitely one of my favorites I've found so far. I've washed it a couple times and it hasn't become darker or dingy at all. It's sherpa material on the other side and is super cozy with a nice heavy weight to it. I'm going to make more with other animals, mostly focusing on the moths and butterflies, I think, because it's got a great shimmery texture for wings. I highly recommend it for

Art Project Digital Download Bat Holiday Ornaments Using Paper, Markers, Tape and String October 2025
Kids really loved coloring my B for Bat illustrations in preparation for decorating their desks and their homes for Halloween this year in Las Vegas. I had a Kindergarten class assignment on a day where I was lucky enough to be a Substitute Teacher on dress in your Halloween costume day, along with a parade for about 500 Elementary school kids in their amazing costumes. It was amazing and the kids were so proud of their characters, most of them staying in character with their

Art Project Digital Download Fight or Flight Black Widow Spider and Death's-head Moth Coloring, 12th Grade, Las Vegas, NV October 2025
This is a CCSD High School student taking an Art Break while preparing for end of year testing. I was surprised how interested the older kids have become in coloring as a way to take a mental break during school. It makes sense because it relieves stress no matter what age. I've noticed kids really like chatting about their creative process and how they decide which colors to use as they plan out what they want their final image to look like. It's a part of our minds that sit

Art Projects Coloring a Snowy Owl While Waiting for the Bus After School, Primary Autism, Las Vegas, NV October 2025
This is one of the students in a Primary Autism class where I was a Substitute Teacher in Las Vegas this year. He was a joyful and pretty easy going student and he worked to focus on his lessons throughout the day though he wasn't as interested in coloring butterflies like a lot of the students were throughout most of the days I was there. What I noticed is that when I was on Bus Duty, the exciting journey at the end of the day (if you're new or don't know about Substitute Te

Elementary, 2nd Grade, B is for Butterfly, (Swallowtail Butterflies) 3-D Group Art Project
These kids are 2nd graders at a school in Henderson, NV who decided to move their butterfly coloring project off the page and into the air. They built bridge strips to tape between the wings so the butterflies could sit on their desks as pets during class. More of them joined in and started creating their own versions of flowers the butterflies could use for food as they flew around the room, and others started building plant stalks and larger gathering areas where all the bu

Elementary, 2nd Grade Henderson, NV Swallowtail Butterfly 3-D
One of the students in this 2nd grade class asked if they could have an extra 5 minutes to cut out their butterflies so they could make them fly like paper airplanes. Once she did she realized the paper wings weren't strong enough or aerodynamic and so butterflies wouldn't fly like planes. She decided she need to put a bridge of paper between it's wings so they would stay up and it could sit with its wings up and would be better suited sitting still, eating nectar from a flow

Elementary, Primary Autism, B is for Butterfly, Las Vegas, NV (Rice Paper Butterfly)
This is by a student in a Primary Autism class from October 2025. She had a lot of energy and was pretty active throughout the day so it was cool to see her find the Rice Paper Butterfly interesting enough to sit with them for a while and color them with classmates all working on other butterflies and caterpillars they had chosen as well. Elementary, 3rd Grade, O is for Ostrich, a Bird and Vertebrate
This one is by a 3rd grader in 2025 who absolutely loved the ostriches out of all the birds I had with me in my Sub Pack that day as a Substitute Teacher with CCSD. This student was one of the folks who was quite distracted earlier in the day. Once he learned we were doing art projects later in the day for kids who were focusing, doing their assignments, and being thoughtful about their neighbors he was totally on task and entirely well behaved for the remainder of the day, i
