Enterprise Portal, Content Management and Information Access Strategist supporting IT Enterprise Architecture Management in the Innovation Services Division
Assignments: Define and design overall CalPERS’ strategy and implementation plan for agency portal, Enterprise Content Management, information access, and search roadmap including; 1) a 2500-user Employee Self Service Intranet; 2) a 2500-user Partner and Vendor Extranet; 3) a 1.5 Million-user Customer Extranet; and 4) a to-be-determined Business to Government Extranet
- Develop a strategy and implementation document providing component definitions, case studies, industry analysis, in-house environment assessment, functional service delta assessments, recommended software acquisitions, implementation best practices, governance structures, phased roadmap service delivery schedule, training, marketing and user adoption programs, vendor product reviews, implementation and deployment recommendations, schedules, timelines, resources and budget projections
- Facilitate business education workshops with business stakeholders to share real-world examples of successful Service Oriented Architecture environments, portals, mashups, composite applications, Enterprise Content Management solutions, information access options, data aggregation and search solutions to prepare business for requirements gathering sessions
- Conduct high level business requirements gathering workshops to create functional, content aggregation, and search and information retrieval needs for the agency roadmap addressing all B2E, B2B, B2C, and B2G initiatives
- Assess CalPERS in-house portal, content management, information access and search systems to define deltas between new development roadmap, making recommendations for software and service acquisitions to meet business requirements
- Conduct product stack reviews with leading software Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vendors including Adobe, Autonomy, EMC, Endeca, Fast Search, Google, IBM, Interwoven, OpenText, Oracle, SAP, SUN, and Vignette to provide business and Enterprise Architecture Team with vendor selection recommendations
- Measure vendor ability to provide content capture, management, storage, preservation, delivery, search, data aggregation, single point of entry, integration services, federation, personalization, permissioning, information search and retrieval for structured and unstructured content
- Create a CalPERS Portal, ECM, and Search Roadmap Request for Information for selected vendors to provide their recommended solutions. Manage responses, assist in narrowing the field of vendors selected, and present a formal Request for Proposal to define facilitate vendor selections and procurement
